Update: The road was reopened at 4.42pm.
A BUSY stretch of the M8 has been shut due to a person falling from a bridge onto the road.
Emergency services raced to the scene near Glasgow Airport shortly after 3.30pm.
The westbound road at Junction 27 Arkleston and Junction 28 Glasgow Airport has been closed in both lanes.

Traffic is currently tailed back to Junction 25a and eastbound traffic is moving slowly between Junction 29 and 27.
A spokeman for Police Scotland confirmed that a person has fallen from the bridge and emergency services are in attendance.
