A MAN’S body has been found near an abandoned car in North Lanarkshire.
Police rushed to the scene in Overtown, Wishaw, early this morning when the alarm was raised just after 4am.
The road was briefly closed while police recovered the car.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 4.20am on Tuesday, July 17, the body of a 25-year-old man was found close to Horsley Brae in Overtown, Wishaw. A car was abandoned nearby.
“The road was closed for a short period of time while the vehicle was recovered.
“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however, the death is not being treated as suspicious. The family are aware.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
