A MAN has denied murdering 19-year-old Scott Hepburn as he appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow
Jason Gilmour, 28, of Kilwinning, is alleged to have assaulted Mr Hepburn on June 11, 2012, at Hill Street in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, by repeatedly punching him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and then repeatedly kicking, stomping and jumping on his head.
It is alleged that Mr Hepburn was so severely injured that he died on April 17, last year, at Greenfield Park Care Home in Glasgow and that Gilmour murdered him.
Lorraine Glancy, defence counsel for Gilmour, entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge on his behalf during the short court appearance.
Judge Lord Burns set a trial for November at the High Court in Glasgow.
It is expected to last 10 days.
Gilmour is on bail.
