Businesses continuing to operate on Sauchiehall Street following two disastrous fires have been dealt another blow.
Resurfacing work on the street across the weekend will disrupt bus routes and potentially further impact struggling businesses.
First Bus Glasgow have announced that they will be re-routing a number of services away from the street on Saturday July 21 and Sunday July 22 between 8.30am and 6.30pm.
Instead of services the street, the buses including services 10, 18, 77 and 3, will be impacted.
All stops on Sauchiehall Street/Fitzroy Place between Kelvingrove Street and Newton Street will be out of use due to the road works.

The work is part of the ongoing Avenues project which continuing despite the issues.
The news is a further inconvenience to traders who are losing customers due to cordons following the Victoria’s nightclub fire and Glasgow School of Art fire.

In an open letter to Nicola Sturgeon, Gill Hutchison of the Sauchiehall Street Inner Corden group, described the project having created an ‘economic wasteland’.
Pauline McNeill MSP previously said jobs will be lost if further help isn’t given to residents and businesses.

She added: “Sauchiehall Street is important for Glasgow's economy and is an iconic street for shopping and nightlife with a thriving community. Glasgow City Council must establish an emergency fund to support the businesses. Without support businesses will close and will be jobs lost.”
