A MAN was stabbed and another left with cuts as they sat in a van in Greenock.
The victims - aged 28 and 36 - were sitting in a silver Renault Trafic in Weir Street, close to Sinclair Street, between 4.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday.
They were approached by two men who damaged the windows of the vehicle and assaulted both men with a knife.
Both men received treatment at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
One was treated for a stab wound, and the other for lacerations.
They were released after treatment
Detective Sergeant Neil Martin, at Greenock Police Office, said: “Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.
“We believe this was a targeted attack on these two men and officers are in the area carrying out house to house enquiries and gathering CCTV footage to establish more information on this serious assault and identify the two men responsible.
“At the time of the incident, Weir Street and Sinclair Street would have been busy and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that will assist our investigation, to contact police.”
