A MAN was stabbed during a targeted attack in East Kilbride.
The 40-year-old was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital after the assault which happened at around 5.25pm on Saturday.

Detectives in East Kilbride said the victim was involved in an altercation with other men when he was seriously assaulted.
He was released from hospital after treatment.

Detective Constable Alan Hamilton said: “At this time we are working to gather more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and the men responsible.
“We believe that this was a targeted attack, and officers are carrying out further enquiries in the local area and studying CCTV footage as part of this investigation.

“At this time, I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with any information that may assist our enquiry to contact Cambuslang Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3058 of 21st July. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
