STEVEN GERRARD was always going to go down the route of bringing in players that he knows this summer so it is no surprise to see Ryan Kent follow Ovie Ejaria in making the move from Liverpool to Rangers on loan.
He knows Jurgen Klopp well and knows the club inside out so he will want to use that network to get the best young players that he can from Liverpool.
Kent must have something about him as a player or he wouldn’t be at Anfield and he wouldn’t have Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister coming for him.
The big concern I have with loans, and I was the same as a manager, is when it is a first time loan for a player. That is always a gamble.
You don’t know how he is going to react being away from their parent club and being away from home and how they will fit in.
That isn’t a worry for Kent though because he has already been at Coventry, Barnsley, Freiburg and Bristol City over the last few years.
He has gained a bit of experience, he will have good knowledge of the game and it won’t faze him coming up and playing for Rangers and working with Steven Gerrard. If he was a first-time loan, I would have said he was a bit of a gamble.

We will have to wait and see whether he is going to be a starter every week or be an impact player off the bench.
But it is a relatively low-risk, low cost deal for Rangers and the manager has got another exciting young player that can hopefully catch the eye at Ibrox.
