FIREFIGHTERS are in attendance at a blaze at Rothesay Dock.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to an incident at 3.11pm to the Clyde boatyard.
It was orginally reported to be an oil drum which had caused the blaze but fire crews confirmed it was a pile of debris.
Members of the public reported hearing an explosion with smoke visible from several miles away.
But the fire service told our sister title Clydebank Post they had no mention of an explosion.
A spokesman for SFRS said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3.11pm on Thursday, July 26 to reports of a fire in the open in Clydebank.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire engines to the town’s Dock Street, where firefighters extinguished a fire which had taken hold of a pile of debris.
“There were no casualties.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.”
