FANS of the late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker will gain an insight into his life with a new documentary.

An emotional trailer for the new Paramount Network film I Am Paul Walker features tales from his siblings Caleb, Cody and Ashlie as well as pal and fellow franchise star Tyrese Gibson.

The film shows the private side of the 40-year-old actor, who was killed in a car accident alongside his friend 38-year-old Roger Rodas, including his life with daughter Meadow and his charity work.

In the clip, family reveal it was his private life the star, who portrayed Brian O'Conner in the hit franchise, treasured most and he would dreamed of working as a park ranger where he could live in the wild.

His death caused shockwaves around the world as fans learned he had lost control of his Porsche crashing into a lamp post and two trees which caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

In the series, his devastated cast mates recruited his brother Caleb to film his character's exit, which showed O'Conner leaving the life behind to be with his pregnant wife and child.

Stars, including Vin Diesel who named his daughter Pauline in honour of Walker, have spoken of their heartache at losing the beloved actor and the effect it had on the cast.

In the final seconds of the trailer, Tyrese reveals: "If you loved him the way we did, you would say, well, why him and not us?"

I Am Paul Walker will debut next month.
