BONNIE Tyler is a real legend so it was brilliant to meet her at Rewind festival.

The Holding Out For A Hero star was lovely and chatty in the artists village and so laidback I could imagine her lying on her sofa in her Welsh home and chilling out with some fluffy pink slippers.

As she hung out with her husband before her gig she revealed she’s just completed  her new album Faster Than the Speed of Night and has plans to release it very soon.

She also told us she’d recorded a duet with Status Quo frontman Francis Rossi who was also playing the fest.

The pair both recorded songs for Frankie Miller’s album Double Take, another record produced by David Mackay, who has been confirmed as the producer for Bonnie’s upcoming sixth studio album.

Tiffany sang about being alone and she admitted to me that she often gets lonely these days despite her fame.

In between heaving a laugh about her shoulder swinging dance moves and love of vintage clothes ever since she first appeared in shopping malls, she told me: ”I get lonely. You’re around people all day long and then all of a sudden things get quiet.

“You get highs and lows. It used to bother me more as a kid but it’s not a kid thing. You give all your energy out at once – and then you’re alone which is a weird thing.

“I’m not a person who likes to spend too much time by herself which is a weird thing. I love people.

“Maybe cause I was an only child I always went out and played by myself. I had friends but I was singing and climbing trees and putting on plays and my friends didn’t really want to do that. A lot of times I ended up in the backyard by myself.”

Maybe she should change the lyrics to her song.

Reunion

MIDGE Ure and Bob Geldof managed to have a wee hug and a kiss backstage during a rare reunion at Rewind.

Midge, who is always great to interview, told me they are like ships that pass in the night at gigs because they are always put on different days
so it was nice to be sharing a bill.

Midge also told me that he hasn’t ruled out putting on another Live Aid event with Bob at some point.

He said: “We have nothing planned just now but never say never. Bob and I are still trustees of the Band Aid Trust so it’s our job to generate as much income out of the song and legacy as possible so we are always scheming. Live 18 didn’t have a ring to it.

“It doesn’t roll off the tongue does it, but things happen.”

Midge is looking forward to going Stateside now to join Paul Young at some gigs over there.

He also told me he enjoyed Martin Compston’s recent portrayal of him in telly – but admitted: “He was the Midge Ure I’d love to have been – really aggressive.”
