MUSIC legend Chrissie Hynde will take to the stage of Kelvingrove Bandstand on Monday night to kick-start a two-week Summer boutique festival at the popular outdoor venue.
The Pretenders are the first act scheduled for the 10-date Summer Nights Festival, which is running until August 9 and is now in its fifth year.
Fans will be hoping for a break in the rain and to hear some of the band’s biggest hits including Brass in Pocket, Back on the Chain Gang and 2000 miles.
Tickets for most of the acts sold out out as soon as they were announced including Van Morrison, Roxy Music legend Bryan Ferry, First Aid Kit and Fleet Foxes.

However limited seats are still available for American country/folk singer songwriter John Prine, Irish singer Imelda May, former Love and Money frontman James Grant and reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.
The festival will run every night this week, except Sunday, and continue on Monday, August 6 and has been lauded by artists including Welsh music legend Tom Jones who performed two years running.
Ticket holders will be able to tuck into street food and continental beers.

A spokesman for organiser Regular Music said: “We can’t wait to get the bandstand’s flagship Summer event underway.
“Our eclectic line-up offers something for everyone with music legends like The Pretenders and Bryan Ferry sitting alongside newer acts including First Aid Kit and Imelda May..
“We also pride ourselves on keeping our food and drinks prices low so ticket holders won’t pay any more for a pint than they would at the pub.”
