TWO men have been assaulted after a large-scale street battle in the heart of Glasgow city centre following Rangers v Wigan football match.
Cops rushed to the scene at Glasgow Central Station last night at around 6.40pm after fighting broke out.
The Evening Times understands that cops are investigating whether those who were involved in the fighting were heading to the busy transport hub to get the train to Wigan.
The men who were assaulted were treated for minor injuries. Their ages and injuries are at this stage unknown.
Police Scotland said today they would liaise with British Transport Police as they investigate the incident.
A spokeswoman said: "We were called about 6.40pm to a large scale disturbance outside Glasgow Central Station on Hope Street near to Argyle Street.
"As a result of which two men were assaulted and received medical treatment for what is believed to be minor injuries.
"Officers are liaising with British Transport Police and enquiries are continuing."
Shocking violent footage of the running battle appeared on social media.
The men fought with each other along the stretch of road, which is usually busy with traffic. They were seen throwing street furniture around.
Police Scotland officers in the footage are seen attempting to control the situation as the men run off.
Travelling Wigan support headed to Ibrox Stadium earlier in the day to watch their side face Rangers.
The Glasgow side beat Wigan 3-0.
