GLASGOW children earn more pocket money than almost anywhere in the UK.

New figures reveal city kids take in an average of £4.13 a week, coming in second to Edinburgh youngsters who top the list with £4.53.

The Scottish cities are the only two to shell out more than £4 a week on their tots, with capital London only spending £2.45 a week and Plymouth coming in last at just £1.23.

A total of 1,000 parents with children aged between five and 10-years-old were surveyed by toy retailer.

The Entertainer and determined which chores bring home the most cash for youngsters.

Washing the car gets children £2,20 while doing filling and emptying the dishwasher brings in £1.05.

However, mums and dads revealed almost 28 per cent of kids received pocket money despite not completing a single chore.

While the most common chore for little ones to take on was tidying their bedroom.

When it comes to spending their cash, 31.4 per cent opted for new Lego, while 23.2 per cent chose slime and silly putty and 16.3 per cent opted for dolls.
