Stephanie Cheape, who was named Scotland’s best unsigned act, landed a support slot at the Summer Nights Festival at Kelvingrove Bandstand with her band; Don Wilson, Garry Aird and Johnny Queen.

Stephanie started writing when she was just 16, performing for the first time at a sold-out open mic night just a year later and lists her influences as Skunk Anansi, The Specials, Billy Bragg and Lily Allen.

The Pretenders opened the 10-date festival last night, which is running until August 9 and is now in its fifth year.

Van Morrison, First Aid Kit, Fleet Foxes, James Grant and Jimmy Cliffe are also due to perform.
