A GLASGOW city centre pub had to shut down its premises due to a large-scale street fight following Rangers v Wigan Athletic.
JD Wetherspoon's Sir John Moore premises on Argyle Street was in lockdown for around 30 minutes after a fight broke out in the area at around 6.40pm on Sunday.
We reported that cops rushed to Glasgow Central Station after two men were assaulted during the brawl.
The running battle took place outside the transport hub and involved streets including Argyle Street and Hope Street.
An eyewitness claimed the fight started in The Sir John Moore before moving up Hope Street. He said that the pub was damaged.
The popular boozer, however, confirmed that the trouble started outside their premises.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “ There was no trouble at The Sir John Moore.
“ There was trouble around the corner from the pub, but not in the pub itself.
“ The pub was closed for 30 minutes as the police dealt with the situation and ushered the football fans towards the train station.
“This was to assist the police and also make sure nothing spilled into our pub.
“We reopened once the police had moved everyone on and continued to trade as normal without incident."
The Evening Times reported yesterday that that police are investigating whether those who are involved in the fight were getting on the train to Wigan.
A travelling Wigan support had been in the city to watch their side play Rangers at Ibrox Stadium. The match ended 3-0 to Rangers.
