A MAJOR supermarket retailer has been given the go-ahead to take over empty unit within Robroyston Retail Park in the city's North East.
Iceland were granted planning permission by Glasgow City Council to erect new signs on the former Currys and PC World unit.
The frozen food specialists, however, are bringing their 'The Food Warehouse' brand to the city.
The Food Warehouse is described as Iceland's bigger little brother.
There are similar stores in Clydebank, Coatbridge and Wishaw meaning the Robroyston branch would be a city first.
The move would mean another food store in the retail park on Monument Drive which currently houses Asda.
