Thieves in Lanarkshire have been targetting quad bike owners.
Police are urging residents in the Clydesdale area to be vigilant following a number of thefts.
Three quad bikes have been stolen within the week, and another attempted theft has been reported.
In all but one instance the quad bikes were not secure, and had either the keys in the ignition or kept in an open shed.
Constable James Higgins from Lanark Police Station said: “Thieves often target areas where they’ve had success previously and it is important that residents send a clear message to these criminals and ensure any high value items are stored securely.
“Extensive work is ongoing in Clydesdale to detect the individuals responsible and we are offering a free police security review to people in the area. Anyone who is interested can contact james.higgins@scotland.pnn.police.uk.
“I would also urge residents to report any suspicious activity, including unwanted visitors to your property, to Police Scotland via 101.”
