RANGERS midfielder Greg Docherty has emerged as a transfer target for Shrewsbury this summer.
Docherty will be allowed to leave Ibrox in the coming weeks in a bid to find regular first team football this term.
And SportTimes understands Shrews boss John Askey could make a move to take the 21-year-old south of the border before the transfer window closes.
Docherty has yet to feature in a competitive outing for Rangers this term but was handed a start in the friendly win over Wigan.
It is believed he has been assured by boss Steven Gerrard that he does have a long-term future with the Light Blues.
But Shrewsbury will now look to fight off competition from England to clinch a loan switch.
