Nigel Havers has reportedly been signed up to present This Morning after impressing producers during a guest appearance.
The actor, 66, was interviewed by Holly Willoughby and put on a charismatic display that saw him touch her knee and ask her out for lunch.
According to the Daily Mirror, This Morning producers were so impressed they have decided to invite him on as a co-presenter.
A source told the newspaper: “He is the perfect choice to cover our regular hosts – he is suave, dapper and a favourite of our viewers thanks to his previous, cheeky sofa appearances. It is going to be a blast.”
Havers, who was also interviewed on This Morning last year, has appeared in Coronation Street as well as 1981 historical film Chariots Of Fire.
He is reportedly set to co-present Monday’s This Morning alongside Lisa Snowdon, who will also host the show on Tuesday with Rylan Clark-Neal.
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are the stand-in hosts for regular presenters Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during the summer but are away next week.
