This evening will see revellers enjoy performances from Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5 and the Biggest Massaoke Scotland ever.
As well as taking over Glasgow's streets, the event got under way at the SSE Hydro, Strathclyde Park, Tollcross Swimming Centre, Scotstoun Sports Campus and the Emirates Arena.
Some of Great Britain’s first medallists of the 2018 European Championships, along with Glasgow 2018 sporting ambassadors for Golf and Rowing, joined spectators in experiencing the fun family activities at GO LIVE! at the Green during the first weekend of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
Track cyclists Emily Kay, who took silver in the 10km scratch race and Scotland's Neah Evans, part of the women's victorious gold medal winning pursuit team, took part in a Q&A on the main stage, followed by a visit to the cycling ‘Have a Go’ zone to show off their skills.
Thrilled to be part of the team to win Great Britain’s first gold medal of the Championships, Neah Evans said: “It’s nice to get out the Velodrome for some fresh air and being able to meet people who want to celebrate the medal win and congratulate me is really nice! It’s also brilliant to see bikeability skills being offered as part of GO LIVE! At The Green, getting kids trying out the sport.

“The city is so friendly, and with the Women’s Road Race on tomorrow and finishing in Glasgow Green, it’s a great opportunity for people to come down and cheer on the riders.”
Golf ambassador, Carly Booth, one of Scotland’s most recognisable professional golfers, spent the day trying her hand at the variety of sporting activities on offer as well as giving some golf tips to aspiring golfers in the “Have a Go” golf zone run by Scottish Golf.
The 26-year old from Perthshire, who famously became the UK’s youngest ladies club champion at just 11-years-old, said: “It is fantastic to see so many fun sporting activities available for people to come along and try at GO LIVE! at the Green. It is an exciting way to involve children and families in the Glasgow 2018 European Championships and the fact that it is free is even better.
“I really hope it inspires people to get out and see some of the world-class sporting action taking place in the six sports across Scotland over the next nine days including the golf at Gleneagles and supporting the home-grown athletes.
“Challenging Charlie was great fun although I took it easy on him because I think he let me off quite lightly in the boxing ring.”

Rower, Karen Bennett who grew up in Edinburgh, fresh from her silver medal winning performance in the women’s eight at Strathclyde Park this morning, also spent time investigating the variety of activities available as well as participating in a Family Healthy Eating cookery demonstration at the Kitchen Garden.
She added: “It was really special to win in front of a home crowd with friends and family there to watch. This was a big thing to compete in the UK, the World Cup in 2013 was the last time we competed on home soil so it’s a big thing to do it here.
“Being part of a multi-sport event is great for rowing, it puts our sport in the spotlight and hopefully we’ll inspire more youngsters to have a go. It has been fantastic to see the positive impact the Championships is having on children and families at GO LIVE! at the Green with so many people enjoying the sport and cultural activities on offer.”
