TRIBUTES have been paid to a “one in a million” dad who died after an alleged stabbing at a bus stop in Clydebank.

Dominic Brown - also known as Dom - was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after suffering serious injuries in the four-person “disturbance” on Radnor Street at around 5.45pm on Sunday evening.

However, the 31-year-old, of Cornock Street, died soon after.

A JustGiving page set up by Gillian Connolly, the mother of 19-year-old Aaron Keenan who tragically died after being hit by a train last year, has already raised £2,500 in the hours following his death.

Speaking on the page, she said: “I lost my son last year as he was involved in an accident.

“One of his friends created a JustGiving page for us, we never will be able to express how much it helped us.

“Thank you to everyone that’s donated so far. Sometimes a money gift is all people can do to show they’re thinking of the family.”

Another man, aged 34, remains in hospital where staff have described his condition as serious but stable.

It is thought Mr Brown had been seen arguing with a woman near the bus stop prior to the attack.

Detectives have not confirmed what type of weapon was used, although it is thought a blade was involved.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Dom. 

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder on the 34-year-old.

Both are due before Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Family and friends have joined in an outpouring of emotion online, with some lamenting “a sad loss for Clydebank”.

Lauren Kennedy wrote: “You were such a cracking person.

“Always had a smile on your face and you took time to ask how people were.

“I’m sure Clydebank has woken with a heavy heart.”

Paying further tribute to Mr Brown on social media, one woman wrote: “No words will ever explain Dom.

“He was the funniest guy. One in a million and had so many memories with him that will forever be treasured.

“His life and soul will always live on.

“He will forever be remembered as a funny, amazing guy, loved by many.

“Thoughts and prayers will be with his family. RIP, Dom.”

Another added: “Absolutely devastated to hear such sad news of a well-loved guy.

“Life truly is way too short and we really need to grab every chance whilst we can. Rest In peace, Dom. You will be sadly missed.”

“Rest easy cuz,” was another, as one tribute read: “RIP, Dom. What a cruel world we live in.”

A large-scale police cordon was put in place around the scene as officers took over a section of Kilbowie Road, close to Cleddans Bar, near Adriano’s popular fish and chip shop.

Forensics teams worked at the scene well into yesterday following the incident, which police have only described as a ‘disturbance’. Buses were diverted from the scene, with McColl’s Travel issuing a statement yesterday morning saying the Kilbowie Road/Drumry Road stop would not be served for the remainder of the day.
