THE heartbroken girlfriend of a Motherwell Thistle goalkeeper has paid tribute to her "handsome boy" after announcing her pregnancy.
Naomi Foster took to social media to share her bittersweet news following the death of her partner Paul Gerard Aiton.

Alongside a picture of her scan, she wrote: "I may have lost my angel this year but we’ve been blessed with another. Baby Aiton due February 4, 2019."
In another post she added: "I have lost my best friend, father of my baby and the love of my life.
Today, we woke to the devastating news that our goalie @pgaiton had been taken from us. Heartbroken and distraught is too mild for how we all feel. Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to his family and Naomi and family. 💔💔💔

"I have no words. I hope you are at peace now my big handsome boy, love you forever and always."
News of the goalie's sudden death was announced by his team on Sunday.
On Twitter @MThistleAFC wrote: "Today we woke to the devastating news that our goalie @pgaiton had been taken from us.
"Heartbroken and distraught is too mild for how we all feel.

Dozens of other Scottish amateurs also paid tribute to the popular player.
Dunoon Amateurs FC wrote: "we send our deepest condolences to all at the club.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Paul's family with funeral costs.
