A MASSIVE fire has broken out in the Carmunnock area of Glasgow.
Social media users have posted images on Twitter of plumes of black smoke filling the sky close to the village.
Local government independent councillor with East Renfrewshire Council, David Macdonald, said: “Today’s event in Stamperland is a 6:30am fire behind Overlee Park. Apparently a massive tyre fire. Fire department are in attendance with two appliances taken away from Clarkston.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman told the Evening Times: “We’ve been called out to a tyre fire in the Carmunnock area.
“Two appliances are at the scene.”

The incident comes just hours after two 16-year-old boys were taken to hospital - one with a stab wound - after a "large-scale disturbance" at Overlee Park.
