GLASGOW and its surrounding areas are experiencing severe road disruptions and delays as the European Championships’ Time Trial cycling events put the city on lockdown.
Almost 100 routes across the city and beyond are closed as Europe’s elite road cyclists weave their way through the streets of Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and also Stirling.
Diversions have been put into place to direct traffic away from affected locations.

One reader told the Evening Times traffic was “very slow” and “barely moving” as she made her way into Glasgow City Centre this morning.
She said: “The traffic was heavy and definitely more slow-moving than usual along Alexandra Parade towards Castle Street before 8am.
“There have been long queues on the M8, too, as people were trying to get off at junction 15 on the Springburn slip road.”
