SIGNALLING issues at Yoker train station have resulted in dozens of delays across the city's rail services - at the same time as almost 100 roads are closed.

Network Rail engineers are on site, however, a number of services have been revised or delayed.

Trains to Singer, Balloch, Helensburgh, Glasgow City Centre, Airdrie, Motherwell and Hamilton have all been disrupted.

Lanark, Whifflet and Edinburgh service are now also delayed or cancelled. 

Passengers are able to use their ticket on bus services throughout the area, however, the almost 100 road closures throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas for the European Championships means commuters face a lengthy wait.

One commuter wrote: "Great so trains are off on same day as roads are closed.

"Great timing... trying to get from Coatbridge to Edinburgh but all trains coming up as cancelled!!!!! What now???"

While another added: "So the one day every [where] around Bearsden and Milngavie is told to use the train because of the cycling.....and all the trains to Milngavie are cancelled.

"You couldn’t make it up....the one day you actually needed to provide a proper service."

ScotRail and Network Rail have since managed to restore power, however, the vast amount of trains cancelled mean it will take "several hours" for services to return to normal.

The firms have apologised for inconvenice caused.
