ALLAN MCGREGOR Hasn’t had the clean sheets that his performances have merited of late but he added another here with a faultless display. Wasn’t put under sustained threat but dealt well with whatever St Mirren came up with. 7
JON FLANAGAN Switched across the back four as he took over from James Tavernier at right-back and then moved back again when the captain was introduced in the second half. Typically solid and dependable in either position. 7
CONNOR GOLDSON Has been a commanding figure at the back so far this season and showed his prowess in the other area as he headed home a Barisic free-kick to make it 2-0. Another solid display at the heart of the Gers defence. 8
NIKOLA KATIC Came within inches of adding to his impressive goal tally this term but was denied by the woodwork after he connected with a Kent corner. Dealt well with the Saints attack on an encouraging afternoon. 7
BORNA BARISIC Handed his debut following his move from Osijek last week and made an immediate impression on the Ibrox crowd. Superb free-kick allowed Goldson to double the Gers’ lead and was given a rousing reception when replaced after the hour. 7
ROSS MCCRORIE Recalled to the starting line-up and would have been desperate to make an impression. Afternoon was cut short, though, as he was sent off for a foul on Brock-Madsen after just half an hour. 3
LASSANA COULIBALY Didn’t have to sit as deep whilst McCrorie was on the park but role changed after Rangers were reduced to ten men. Excelled in midfield once again. 8
OVIE EJARIA Midfielder has shown glimpses of his ability so far this season and it was a repeat here. Saw plenty of the ball but couldn’t cut St Mirren open that often and was denied his first goal as Samson saved a low shot. 7
JAMIE MURPHY Back in the side as he replaced Daniel Candeias and was involved in the opening goal after robbing Baird and setting Morelos free. Decent afternoon for the winger. 7
RYAN KENT Liverpool kid has yet to sparkle over 90 minutes for the Gers but was always looking to make his presence felt here as he popped up across the front line. Replaced by Halliday with 20 minutes left after another decent showing. 7
ALFREDO MORELOS Almost opened the scoring after just four minutes but made no mistake as he beat Samson with a clinical finish shortly later. Didn’t get the second goal his workrate merited but rightly took the acclaim of the Ibrox crowd. 8
Substitutes:
JAMES TAVERNIER (for Barisic) Took over from Barisic and helped his side see the game out comfortably. 5
ANDY HALLIDAY (for Kent) On to shore up the midfield for the closing stages and played his part. 4
UMAR SADIQ (for Morelos) Given a run-out for the final 13 minutes but couldn’t get the Gers’ third of the afternoon. 3
