A SCHOOLGIRL who was brought to a health centre in Govanhill with burns remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Police confirmed today that the six-year-old is still being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident on Thursday.
We previously reported that the girl was taken into Govanhill Health Centre from a property in Bankhall Street where the alarm was raised.
It is not known how she acquired the injuries.
Last week, several cops cars swooped into Bankhall Street shortly after and a police officer stood guard at a close.
City detectives were also at the scene and appeared to be handling evidence, wearing white gloves.
The force, however, said today that they are still trying to establish what happened to the youngster.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and the six year-old girl is still being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where hospital staff describe her condition as stable."
