Police Scotland usually issues strong advice against the use of pyrotechnics at football games.
In the past, football supporters have been warned: “Do not attempt to bring in flares or other pyrotechnic devices. It is an offence to do so and you will be removed from the stadium and arrested.”
Later that day, ten-man Rangers avoided a repeat of their Pittodrie slip-up as they eased to a 2-0 win over St Mirren at Ibrox.
