ALISON Thewliss MP has criticised Michelle Mone and her daughter Bethany for an 'utterly despicable' new TV show.
Bethany is taking part in Channel 4 show Born Famous, which claims to look at privilege, class and talent.
Teenage children of self-made stars are shown what life might have been like if their parents hadn't made their fortunes.
For the show, Bethany, 19, will travel to Glasgow's East End, where her mother was born and raised.
Now the Baroness of Mayfair, Lady Mone made her money designing and selling bras with firm Ultimo.
But Ms Thewliss called the show "poverty safari" and hit out at Michelle Mone for exploiting her roots.
She tweeted: "Utterly despicable exploitation of a kind, close-knit community.
"No area deserves "poverty safari" treatment, but particularly cruel of @MichelleMone to use East End roots to pick on Bridgeton, which has seen change led by local people, supported @clydegateway. @bridgeton_cc."
