A Glasgow woman is set to follow in the footsteps of Love Island hunk Alex Miller as Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Beth Finlay beat out thousands to nab her chance in the final and could now win £10,000 as well as the chance to mingle with the stars at the annual Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards.
The 25-year-old was invited to visit her local Specsavers store in Byres Road to receive a bottle of champagne, a certificate and a £150 glasses voucher.
She said: “I was so surprised when I was told I had come this far, it is really exciting as I feel like my glasses are a piece of me and I would feel lost without them."

The awards bash will take place in London in October.
Claire McFadyen, director at Specsavers Byres road, said: "It was great to welcome Beth into store to celebrate her getting this far in the competition.
"On behalf of the store we wish Beth the best of luck - it would be fantastic to have a finalist representing Byres Road at the awards.’ The awards were launched by Steps star Claire Richards earlier this year.
If she triumphs in her age category - the 25 to 34-year-old category - Beth will meet Claire and rub shoulders with many other celebs at the glitzy awards ceremony at London’s 8 Northumberland Avenue.
