MAJOR motorways are seeing heavy traffic this morning as commuters headed for Glasgow are urged to plan ahead.
Traffic was already slow-moving on the M8, junction 4, eastbound at Whitburn shortly after 7am this morning.
Heavy traffic has also been reported on the M77 northbound from junction 3 Patterton/Nitshill to junction 2 Barrhead just before 7.30am.
The M80 northbound from junction 4 Mollinsburn to junction 6 at Old Inns also had routine heavy traffic at 7.30am.
The M8 wesbound at junction 13 Provan is slow and busy with the M80 southbound merge at junction 1 just before 8am.
The M74 northbound at junction 6 Hamilton has been busy and slow since just after 8am.
Two incidents have taken place on the Kingston Bridge: eastbound on the bridge bridge, at the southbound secondary carriageway towards West Street, there was a minor road traffic crash that quickly cleared, but caused traffic to slow and build just after 8.30am.
A breakdown also caused delays of around 15 minutes on one lane eastbound.
