A YOUNG man woke up with more than a hangover after drunkenly booting a policewoman on the leg.
Liam McDonald, 26, lost his cool when officers arrived at his home address in response to a disturbance.
The accused initially refused the police entry. When warned about his conduct, he responded by kicking the female officer.
The incident happened on February 11, 2017.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week it was explained that the accused was highly intoxicated and had since expressed shame and embarrassment over his bad behaviour.
Sheriff Shona Gilroy sentenced McDonald, of Torphin Crescent, to a Community Payback Order with 50 hours of unpaid work to be completed within three months.
