A KURDISH community group has signalled interest in taking over a former church in Tollcross.
Plans have been submitted to make internal and external alterations to the listed St Margaret's Church building on Braidfauld Street.
Those behind the proposal, which was submitted to Glasgow City Council this week, want to convert the vacant St Margaret's Church into a Kurdish Community Worship and Education Centre.
A planning statement said: "The proposal will retain all the character and features which would be relatively easy to
turn back to the former original church usage if ever required.
"This proposal is felt to be a great chance for the building to be re-used as a community resource for the area and will
keep the building fresh with maintenance being taken care of by the new owners."
City planners will make a decision on the proposal by October 12. The last date for comments is September 6.
