CELTIC FC's charity arm will be holding a food collection before the club taken on Hamilton Accies at Parkhead.
The pre-match food collection will take place on Sunday, August 25 at 3pm and is partnership with the Glasgow North East Foodbank and The Wayside Club.
There will be three drop-off stations including The Clover (main collection point on the Celtic Way), and the West and East entrance areas along Janefield Street.
Items needed include UHT milk, sugar, tinned fruit, fish and tomatoes, baby wipes, deodorant, men's boxers/underpants (new), men's socks, hand sanitiser, baby wipes, sanitary items and dry shampoo.
Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton said: “Our aim here is to make a difference and help people who need help at this particular time in their lives. Our existing partnerships with organisations that share our values allow us to do that.
“However, as we’ve said repeatedly, we can’t do this without the Celtic support and we are very grateful to anyone who can help us on the day. Even the smallest contribution could make a massive difference to those who are experiencing homelessness or poverty at this time.
“Thank you for your continued backing.”
Tara Maguire, Glasgow NE Foodbank Co-ordinator added: “The support we have been given and continue to receive from Celtic FC, the Foundation and the supporters has been nothing short of phenomenal.
“It is no exaggeration to say that without it, we could not have continued to offer our service across the North East of Glasgow.
“As our numbers continue to increase, certain items are needed for our parcels.
“We have a great stock of soup, beans, pasta and tinned meat so even just one item from the list here, would be absolutely fantastic.
“Working alongside the Wayside on this collection will be wonderful, having followed their work over their years.
“Targeting the items specified, so they can distribute these small but essential parcels to those they see, will be of tremendous benefit to those in need.
“We thank each and every one who has contributed to our appeals and we are grateful to be able to depend on you all once again.”
