After a heated argument with his girlfriend, a Glasgow man went from the frying pan into the fire when he was caught in the street with a cheese knife.
Colin Kiers, 37, didn't mean to take the blade outside and quickly admitted his gaffe.
Police were initially called to the Easterhouse area at around 2.15am for another matter when they came across the accused.
Kiers was found to be highly intoxicated and was swaying on his feet. He also seemed to be upset and revealed the plastic-handled four-inch blade within his jogging bottoms.
Kiers later pleaded guilty to having the knife in his possession without a reasonable excuse.

The incident happened in Dunphail Drive on March 2, 2018.
Defending, Amy Hunter told Glasgow Sheriff Court that Kiers had an argument with his partner and left the property with a cheese knife. He had no intention of going out into the street with the blade and notified the police of his mistake as soon as they approached.
Ms Hunter branded it a "reckless act" in which the accused extracted himself from one situation only to land himself straight into another.
Ms Hunter added: "This appears to be an isolated incident in respect to this type of offending."

Sheriff Tony Kelly accepted the explanation, but told the accused: "It's a serious offence."
Kiers, of Portman Street, was thereafter sentenced to a Community Payback Order with 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
