I think, given the choice, you would take the home leg first in the play-off round so maybe that puts Rangers in a position of strength ahead of the tie with Ufa.
They will then make the trip to Russia next week knowing exactly what they need to do and knowing the position with regards to the away goals rule.
For me, it is an advantage to be at Ibrox first. But it only works in your favour if you make the most of it and do your job.
I don’t know a lot about Ufa but I am sure Steven and the staff will be getting as much information as they can on them and looking at their strengths and weaknesses.
Really, it is up to the players to take responsibility. Everyone knows what is at stake and what they have to do.
The fans will be there in their numbers once again, like they have been all season, and they can play their part by intimidating Ufa and making it a hostile environment for them.
There will be a few supporters that didn’t think Rangers would make it as far as this in the Europa League, never mind have a chance to get into the group stages.
It would be a huge boost for the club to be back at that level once again and it is a chance Steven and the players will be determined to make the most of over the next fortnight.
