A CADDER man has been given a second chance to change his attitude – or face being jailed.

Kieran Devlin, 29, was due to be sentenced for acting like a yob at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, but his case has been adjourned for further reports after he attempted to avoid punishment.

The accused was first spotted by police shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner towards his brother in Balmore Road.

When taken to the hospital for a check-up, he told the police to "f*** off" and threatened: "I'll f****** do them."

He was then arrested for the abusive behaviour.

The incident happened on July 21, 2018.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court this week, defence agent Mr Robertson accepted that it was "completely unacceptable behaviour".

He explained that Devlin, of Skirsa Place, had issues with his medication when moving between medical practices, but that has since been rectified so there should be no more outbursts.

Sheriff Mary McCrory noted that within the Criminal Justice Social Work report, the accused had shown resistance to unpaid work and was not in a position to offer an address for a Restriction of Liberty Order.

With limited sentencing options, Sheriff McCrory deferred the case further until October 1 for an up-to-date report to assess whether Devlin can actually undertake unpaid work and engage with a supervision order. If not, the accused faces jail.
