RYAN KENT reckons Rangers fans are starting to see the best of Steven Gerrard’s Liverpool loan stars this term.

The winger and midfielder Ovie Ejaria both made the move from Anfield to Ibrox this summer as they followed Gerrard north of the border.

Ejaria turned in his finest performance in Light Blue in the 1-0 win over Ufa on Thursday night, while Kent had a hand in the goal as Connor Goldson gave Rangers a first leg advantage.

And the 21-year-old is pleased with the progress that he and his Reds team-mate are making as key parts of Gerrard’s Ibrox blueprint.

Kent said: “We feel a bit frustrated, especially at half-time with the way we performed. But going into the game, if you had offered us a 1-0 going into the second leg we would have taken it.

“It’s a good thing that we are disappointed after those performances. It shows how far the team has come.

“The games are coming thick and fast now. We take one game at a time and just put in the best performance we can for each game. We don’t look past the next game.

“I think my performances have been getting stronger and my match-fitness is there now. I didn’t play so many games last year, so I am building up confidence with the crowd behind us and the results we have had.

“The main thing for me this year is to add numbers to my game in terms of assists and goals. Hopefully they can keep coming and I can keep putting in performances.

“I have had the benefit of playing with Ovie in the past so we know how each other play. We will keep working on our link-up.

“I thought he was excellent last night. He put in a real shift and showed a different side to his game. It wasn’t just the technical side, I thought he was quite strong and physical in midfield.”
