A MOBILE drug dealer was stopped in his tracks by undercover police.

William Brown, 26, was snared on the street after he was seen ‘dealing’ from a Vauxhall Corsa.

Officers within an unmarked police car initially spotted the accused being driven around by a woman. They then watched as a man approached the Corsa and was seen to take an item from Brown, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Believing it to be a drugs transaction, the officers later stopped the accused and searched the car. Brown was found to be in possession of diamorphine worth £1,490 and an additional sum of money.

When arrested by police, the accused gave a ‘no comment’ interview.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, Brown pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of diamorphine in Wellshot Road on January 12, 2018.

Brown’s Criminal Justice Social Work report indicated that the accused did not believe his actions had an adverse affect on anyone. His lawyer told Sheriff Linda Ruxton that was not the case and he was instead acutely aware of the negative affects drugs have on society.

The defence agent added: “He does expect to be punished for these offences.”

Sheriff Ruxton asked the Crown what happened to the suspect who appeared to buy drugs from Brown. She was told that case was not followed up.

Brown, of Balbeggie Street, was thereafter sentenced to a Community Payback Order with 210 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.
