ALLAN MCGREGOR Lost his footing and couldn’t recover to prevent Johnson lobbing him after two minutes. Could do nothing about McHugh’s header but made a string of saves before Hartley beat him in the final seconds. 7
JAMES TAVERNIER Had a chance to pose more of a threat in the final third from a wing-back berth. Came close with a shot in the first half and then picked out Lafferty with a superb cross to make it 2-2. On the back foot for most of the second half. 7
CONNOR GOLDSON Has barely put a foot wrong since joining the Gers but his slip proved costly as Johnson put Motherwell ahead. Had a couple of sloppy moments and his efforts in the final stages proved in vain. 7
NIKOLA KATIC Initially shifted to the left side of the back three and had a shaky start. Grew into the game and performed well as he won his headers and tackles. 7
JON FLANAGAN Started on the right of the three man defence before being switched along the line. Made a couple of crucial blocks and helped Rangers withstand a spell of pressure as Motherwell pressed for an equaliser. 7
BORNA BARISIC Was always a threat down the left flank as he swung in a series of teasing crosses and got an assist as Ejaria put Rangers 3-2 ahead. Another impressive showing from the Croat. 7
ANDY HALLIDAY Has had a part to play in the last couple of fixtures and did his job well here once again. Covered a lot of ground and looked to stamp his authority on a tough midfield battle. Replaced with 20 minutes to go after a tireless performance. 7
RYAN JACK Continues to impress and is quickly becoming an integral part of Gerrard’s side. Another all-action display as he thrived in the middle of the park. 7
OVIE EJARIA Earned praise from Gerrard for stepping up to the physical challenge in recent games and didn’t shirk that task here. Touch of fortune about his first Gers goal as Carson palmed a shot into the net. 7
KYLE LAFFERTY Handed his first start since returning to Ibrox last week and wasted no time in endearing himself to the Light Blue legions. Two first half goals hauled Gerrard’s side back into the match but his all round game was impressive as he led by example up front. 8
ALFREDO MORELOS Hasn’t played with a partner that often for the Gers but seemed to revel in the chance with Lafferty alongside him. Scoring chances were hard to come by but put in a real shift throughout. 7
Substitutes:
SCOTT ARFIELD (for Halliday) Gave Rangers fresh legs in the middle of the park and equipped himself well. 4
GLENN MIDDLETON (for Barisic) Struggled to influence proceedings as Motherwell dominated the closing stages. 2
LEE WALLACE (for Ejaria) Given a warm reception from the Gers fans as he was put on for the final seconds but couldn’t prevent Motherwell snatching a point. 1
