A JUNIOR football team’s away shirt has sparked a stir online after Scottish band Chvrches sponsored the club.
The Glasgow group's logo features on Whitburn Juniors’ strip. Now supporters of the band are clamouring to get their hands on the East Superleague team’s kit after singer Lauren Mayberry’s fanclub tweeted about their link to the club.
The West Lothian team have now had enquiries from new supporters around the world including South America.
Whitburn secretary Ann Haddow said: “One of our supporters, Robert Cook, does an awful lot for the club.
“His son Iain is in the band and he had asked him if they were interested in sponsoring us. Lauren’s fan club have tweeted about it so it has escalated.
“I’ve even had word from somebody in Argentina through the club website to find out how much it would cost to post it to him.”
