MUSIC legend Freddie Mercury will be celebrated in the city next week.
In honour of the icon's 72nd birthday, Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow will host 'Freddie for a Day' festivities.
The one-day event will bring Freddie fans and staff together to honour the musician’s life and legacy, while raising awareness and funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
The Buchanan Street restaurant will be selling wearable moustaches and pins inspired by the legendary rocker and the guest who comes as the best-dressed Freddie lookalike will be in with a chance of winning a free legendary burger. Queen music will also be playing throughout the day, with a DJ getting guests in the party spirit from 6.45pm.
Stephen K. Judge, president of cafe operations for Hard Rock International, said: "Freddie Mercury was a legendary singer, songwriter and record producer, and we are honoured to continue our longstanding support of the Mercury Phoenix Trust though the ‘Freddie for a Day’ programme.
"This year, we are excited to bring the programme to more cafes than ever before and support ‘Freddie for a Day’ in our locations around the world, in addition to our European cafes, which have participated in the program for six years.”
The event will take place next Wednesday, September 5, between 12-11pm.
