A BOMB squad has been called to Dalmarnock.
Police Scotland confirmed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team is currently at the scene on Dalmarnock Road, near Dalmarnock Bridge, after workmen reported discovering a device - believed to be explosive - in a building site.
Police and fire crews are also in attendance.
A controlled explosion will be carried out tonight. Nearby residents have been told to stay away from their windows.
Dalmarnock Road will be closed in the meantime. Dalmarnock railway station has also been shut down.
On Facebook, Karen Clark posted on the Dalmarnock Matters page: "The bomb will be let off as a controlled explosion within the hour so if you hear a bang that's what it is."
She added: "Just had the police at the door.
"They don't know if the flat windows will shatter so to keep them open and get to the back of our buildings."
