Russian fans took to the streets today and put on quite a display with smoke bombs and flares ahead of the FC Ufa's Europa League clash with Rangers.

In a video posted by the Russian team's Twitter account, the fans can be seen setting off various clouds of smoke beside what appears to be a team bus.

The Gers will be taking on the Russian side at 3pm on Thursday in Leg 2 of the play-offs.

Rangers already beat FC Ufa 1-0 last week at Ibrox so hold an advantage thanks to Connor Goldson's goal during a tense first leg in Glasgow.

Now the Ibrox side face a marathon journey to the Republic of Bashkortostan to take on the team once more.

And the fans were not shy about showing support for their team in a bid to try and intimidate the Light Blues side.

The tweet read: "Our fans have charged the team before leaving for the stadium!

"Go, Ufa!"

The Evening Times also reported on how Zenit St Petersburg boss Sergei Semak told Steven Gerrard that FC Ufa will end their Europa League dream on Thursday.

He said: "Ufa can definitely beat Rangers.

"I think they have a great chance of qualifying."
