A Glasgow nursery has shared their frustration after being robbed by a group of thugs for the second time this year.

The Butterfly Nursery on Kilmuir Road shared a copy of the CCTV footage online which shows a group of three hooded figures bursting into the office and tearing the place apart in a bid to find something to steal.

The incident took place on Wednesday night and staff were alerted when the alarm went off.

A staff member at the nursery who wishes to remain anonymous said: "They had pulled an iron grate off which was covering the window and then smashed it so there was glass everywhere.

"Then they caused destruction inside as well but only got away with a bit of petty cash, two laptops and a tablet which have all been disabled."

The nursery was robbed for the first time back in May in a similar scenario, however some cash was taken which then prompted them to begin keeping all payments in the form of bank transfers.

"Luckily we made the decision to move all of our payments after the first break in and I just want people to realise that there is nothing really worth taking here anymore," she continued.

Unfortunately, the damage wasn't the only reason the nursery suffered as they have seen major disruptions to the service for all of Thursday as a result of the broken glass and mess caused by the break-in.

A kind community member came and boarded up the broken window, however the children have been unable to access several parts of the nursery including the outside area as a result of the incident.

The staff member said: "We have been running about all over the place today it has really affected the service more than anything."
