Thanks to a generous donation, the Govan Ferry will continue to run for the next three weeks.
Glasgow City Heritage Trust donated £5,000 towards keeping the boat on the Clyde right up until Monday, September 24.
Operating between Govan and Riverside museum, the boat runs on demand during the summer months to allow visitors to make the most of the museum, Tall Ship, the Govan Stones and Fairfield.
Fans of the boat were overjoyed by the news with one commenting: "That's fabulous news!"
Another added: "That's great news well done the Govan Stones Team."
The ferry was back by popular demand on June, 22 providing free journeys across the river.
The Govan ferry ran for 230 years until 1966, when it was first scrapped. The nearby Kelvinhaugh ferry made its final river crossing in 1980.
It was relaunched several years ago.
