ROSSHALL Academy in Crookston was evacuated early on Monday morning.
Police Scotland confirmed the force received a report of a “suspect package” shortly after 8am.
Several fire appliances and police vehicles were in attendance, including police dogs.
A short statement from the school on Twitter just after 9am said: “Rosshall Academy has had to be evacuated. Parents and carers have been contacted by text. We will update later today.”
Some witnesses at the scene reported seeing bomb disposal units arriving.
Parents took to social media to ask the school for more information with some claiming their children said there had been a bomb threat.
Crookston Road was closed to all traffic between Paisley Road West and the school due to the incident.
Road users had been advised to consider alternate routes where possible.
Rosshall Academy confirmed on Twitter that the incident was over by 10.30am.
A statement said: “Incident is now over - all pupils and staff safe. School is closed for the rest of the day and all should report to school as normal tomorrow morning.”
The closed roads were also fully reopened at around 10.40am.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The school was evacuated as a precaution and a search of the building was underway.
“Roads surrounding the area were closed.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: “We were called at 8.29am on Monday, September 3 to assist emergency service partners at Rosshall Academy, Crookston.
“Operations control mobilised a number of resources to the scene and crews remained in attendance.”
