Rangers have hit out at Glasgow City Council’s deputy leader over a controversial Twitter post.
David McDonald has been accused of breaching privacy rules after posting confidential emails sent by Rangers managing director, Stewart Robertson, online.
Mr Robertson is said to be furious at the post, which also revealed his contact details, and the club have demanded action be taken.
It comes just days after Mr McDonald was accused of intervening to prevent Rangers from getting a new fan zone across from Ibrox stadium.

A club spokesman said: “We regard it as an extremely foolhardy thing to have done.
“Our strong advice is that he has breached GDPR rules and this will have to be addressed.
“Given his behaviour over the fan zone application, it perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise that he is so cavalier with sharing data without consent.”
At the weekend, the council said: “We are satisfied that there has been no data breach.”
It came despite the commonly-used confidentiality notice underneath one of the emails saying: “The information contained in this email is CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION and may be legally privileged.”
Unimpressed Twitter users were quick to blast the politician for his carelessness.

One said: “I genuinely can’t believe you have posted the managing director of Rangers contact details on Twitter.”
“The email from the Rangers MD is also marked as confidential yet you have seen fit to post it on Twitter?”
Mr McDonald recently denied intervening to prevent a Rangers fan zone from going ahead.
He issued a statement after heavy criticism of Glasgow Life’s decision to stop the club using the Ibrox Football Centre for a fan zone pilot before a match on August 12.
A spokesman for the council said: “We are satisfied that there has been no data breach.”
