EMERGENCY services have rushed to Hamilton in South Lanarkshire to battle a dramatic early-morning fire at a car wash.
The incident is taking place near the junction of Almada Street and Bothwell Road in Hamilton. It is expected to cause significant disruption to locals and those passing through the area this morning.
South Lanarkshire Council warned locals of the incident early this morning.
The council said in a short statement: “A fire near the junction of Almada Street and Bothwell Road in Hamilton will mean significant disruption this morning at that location and on nearby roads. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman told the Evening Times the alarm as raised at around 5.35am.
He added: “The building on fire is believed to be a single-storey, old car wash on Muir Street.
“Four appliances are in attendance. Two high-reach appliances and breathing apparatus are in use.
“The incident is ongoing.”
Police Scotland said it was aware of the incident and added that officers were on the scene to deal with traffic.
