GLASGOW jobseekers are being offered the chance to gain the skills and qualifications needed for a successful career in the hospitality industry, as one of Scotland’s leading employability schemes returns to the area this autumn.
Starting on September 10, the Diageo Learning for Life course offers participants six weeks of practical coaching, employability training, industry recognised qualifications and on-the-job experience through invaluable work placements with some of Glasgow’s leading hospitality businesses, such as The Blythswood Hotel, Gin 71 and Citizen M.
Unemployed people from Glasgow and the wider Lanarkshire area are being encouraged to sign up for the award-winning training programme, which is open to over 18s currently receiving Jobseeker's Allowance or Universal Credit.
Nicola Reid, programme manager, said: “The hospitality sector is flourishing, and so much fun to work in.
"Everyone who completes the Diageo Learning for Life course is presented with multiple opportunities to progress themselves and their career within the Industry.
“With so many routes to choose from, employment prospects are high and the future looks exciting. I encourage you to grab this opportunity and use it to your advantage.”
